Week 4 Recap / Week 5 Goals

Week 4 Recap
  • Total VPPs Earned: 30,254.65
  • Hours Played: 61.64
  • Hands Played: 77,181
  • VPPs/Hour: 490.8
  • VPPs/Hand: 0.392
  • VPPs Earned YTD: 77,217.38

I did pretty well catching up on my points this week (back on pace for SNE), but didn't played well. I tilted some/cut my days short because I was pissed off and/or the games sucked mid-week. January has actually been my worst month of losses since I started played full-time. The roll has taken a bit of a hit with my cashouts and losses, but I'm still fine. I should clear $11k in bonuses next month which will bring me back to where I like to be, assuming I can stop playing/running badly.

Week 5 Goals:
  • VPP Goal: 30k
  • I need to focus more on the tables and not mess around on the internet. 24 tables plus ESPN and AIM is probably not the smartest plan.
  • I need to stick to my schedule. I haven't felt like playing at night lately, but
I need to suck it up, invest in some 5 hour energy, and push through.
  • Stop tilting. No excuses.

Lol, I'd go crazy without a few distractions. I suppose if I had several conversations, some money riding on whatever game was on (European Water Polo League), & was perusing pornography I could see this being an issue.

In case you haven't read it, Elements of Poker by Tommy Angelo is awesome.

I heard about you maybe giving up the SNE chase, & was curious what you're going to rename your blog :). But seriously I hope you do whatever is in your best interest.

Did the surviving members of the Donner party, or the guys depicted by the movie Alive give up? Hell no, they did whatever it took to survive.

That was the best inspirational speech i could come up with on short notice, hopefully you find it helpful.

  5. Alive and the related documentaries about the subject are savage. Hard to give up on anything after watching that.

As far as the Donner party, they kinda backed themselves into that one.

According to a movie I just watched http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1219336/ on netflix (rating of 4.7/10 is about what I would give it, bit slow acting subpar IMO, scenery A+). It really seemed to be a series of piss poor decisions (some based on the greed of a few), & bad luck (for instance a huge blizzard in Oct, & the army's inability to help due to war). Of all the members in the party (83 people), only a few really made the poor decisions the rest were simply ignorant of the situation. Neat website I googled opon: http://www.donnerpartydiary.com/survivor.htm
